I recently received this awesome message and it was one of those “fuck yes, way to make my day!” moments.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you!!!

Long story short (ish), just over a year ago I met a girl who has changed my life and opened my eyes in aaaaaall the best ways. She was already on the scene here and had been for some time whereas I was a total vanilla creature unaware of this incredible world.

She introduced me to the idea of rope and told me that she likes to be tied up. I on the other hand was never even a boy scout and sometimes struggle with my own shoelaces!
Anyway, falling head over heels with her and wanting to make her dreams come true, I started the process of researching and learning all things ropey! And the first site I came across was ropeconnections.com. I spent hours reading everything I could on your site and practising the free tutorials you have posted, and discovered “Hey! I’m actually not bad at this AND its REALLY fun!”
So I bought and downloaded your e-book “rope bondage the smart way” and it has become my ropey bible. The way you explain things is so clear and easy to follow.
I am still learning and working on the confidence to take charge of the situation, (I’m not a natural Dom but I’m getting better!) and do often still have to refer back to tutorials while tying, which she is fine with because we are both learning and having an awesome time.

But anyway, I’m glad I have found you on FL so I can personally say “Thank You” for your work and resources. I hope you keep it up and maybe release another book with some more awesome ideas/tutorials.

I love this. He’s worked hard and continues to work hard, and in doing so is totally encouraging me to keep up my work as well, which I really appreciate.

Today I’m off sick, but recently I’ve been doing a lot of work in researching for upcoming projects.

Research is not NEARLY as fun as creating – it feels like study, honestly, even when researching stuff you love and want to use – but it’s a very necessary step towards building the knowledge base and experience necessary to create new useful things, like books and guides.

So I really appreciated that message, and that he took the trouble to send it to me. That encouragement is freaking great!

I’m going to keep working hard, studying, and learning useful things, and then create more useful guides for all you guys out there as well.

A week or three ago, some friends and I spent an afternoon doing a rope photoshoot in a hotel room nearby. It was hilariously good fun, and we got some amazing pictures out of it.

Unfortunately, most of those pictures show a bit too much detail to post… which is incredibly sad, because I’d love to show them off. When a friend of a friend is a hobby photographer, you can get some amazing stuff.

But there are one or two that I can share with you guys 😀

Below is one I took myself. I was experimenting with the “mermaid” tie in a bathtub (Oh my god I wish my bathroom looked like that) and it ended up looking pretty great. My lovely model had always wanted to be a mermaid… she ended up having a fantastic time with this (she’s also currently a red head, and a “little” at times, so it was very “Bondage Ariel” in there for a bit).

But the one I’m really pleased to show you is the next one, which was taken by the hobby photographer.

Often, when I’m doing a photoshoot, if someone else is taking the pictures, I’ll tell them when to take a particular shot – usually because I’m putting together a tutorial or something. So I’m busy tying and being mindful of the shot, etc.

This time, I ignored that, and focused on interacting with my model… it was much more of a “rope scene” captured on camera. I put her into dreamy rope spaces, and enjoyed every aspect of the interaction. I’ve had to crop the picture, but I feel like the photographer caught that enjoyment really well, on both sides.

It was an absolutely amazing afternoon, and a great way to spend time with rope friends. Lots of fun tying, appreciating each other’s hotness, and laughing as we took delight in creating very fun pictures.

I highly recommend it as a fun afternoon activity.

There’s a starting point in the journey of everyone who wants to learn rope bondage.

And that starting point can be all kinds of things, from seeing someone tied up in a movie and getting an unexpected thrill, to taking an interest in climbing and working with rope and suddenly wanting to do other things with it.

All too often though, that starting point comes about when our ever so lovely partners suddenly turn to us with little to no warning and say “I want to be tied up”.

Gulp.

It’s happened to so many of us!

Today I’m sharing the story of one of my readers who got landed with that exact same challenge, and who took it on like a freaking champion. I’ve had the privilege to ask him a few questions and get more of his story, so I could share it with other people who are learning.

Sometimes, there’s quite a lot to be said for using less rope, rather than more.

Apparently, I’ve managed to achieve EXACTLY what I set out to do with this website. Which is freaking awesome. I’ve just received a success story which completely made my week!
